Hiring A Band
If you are not interested in having a DJ player wedding you may want to do another thing. Hiring a band to play at your wedding can be another enterprise which many people prefer highly over any other type of musical entertainment. People like to be able to feel the music and you can never feel it any better than with a band. Why all working with a set of songs that is tried and true and you know what is going to happen in each of them is a reassuring thing, having the live element of a band that can play just about anything anybody shouts out and can make mistakes and can go off on tangents and can alter their set with the mood in the room is an invaluable tool to making sure your wedding goes from good to unforgettable.
While hiring a band should be a fairly easy enterprise there are a number of bands which you can hire and all of them play a different sort of style music. While you may end up with a Cajun zydeco music band for hire that may not be exactly what you're looking to do for your wedding. If you want to move beyond that into something a little bit more standard or jazzy or mellow that is a popular choice for many people’s weddings. Many people like to have a background which is just going to be nice to dance to and that's it and that is definitely what you get with something like a small jazz band or a three-piece. Standup bass, brushes on drums, saxophone! Outta sight!
If you need to tap the old family to help to raise funds to hire a band this is something that maybe they would be able to help out at the last minute. If you are interested in putting the other a larger outfit to maybe honor your Scottish tradition by having a bagpipe band for hire that might be something that is possible but also it might be something that is a bit overbearing depending upon the space. If you're having it at an outdoor setting and there are no neighbors than having a bagpipe and play might be a great idea; if you're having it in a hotel with 8 foot ceilings and it's just going to be in a reception hall venue may not be able to tolerate the highs and lows that are found in a bagpipe band.
Hiring country bands is always fun as they often are able to just keep people up and dancing and slow things down any two and play standards everybody knows. Whatever type of band you want to hire you really need to be able to hear the band playing first and this is usually possible through any one of their websites or they often send out free complementary CDs to potential customers so that even if you hear them and you don't like them or you don't and going with them you may be able to pass on their CDs somebody else is looking for something that's their style.
